2nd Annual Quattro De Mayo

January 24th, 2010

Mark your calendars for May 8th as the AZ ANCA chapter will be holding its 2nd Annual Quattro De Mayo event. We want to make this one even larger than last year and have just started tossing around some ideas for location and activities, and maybe try to get some of the SoCal chapter to cruise over to AZ .

So mark that day on your calendars now and keep tuned to your email for further updates.

Here are two other non-Audi specific events coming up in Arizona that anyone can attend.

Elite Car Cruising Organization Presents April 30th-May1st

1st Innaugural Cannonball Phoenix Spree www.tourecco.com for all information. This is an overnight cruise from Fort McDowell up to Arizona in the fun spirit of the 1970’s Cannonball Run movie (including costumes and a Burt Reynolds look alike). This is open for all cars, and is actually put on by an Audi owner who wants to get some more 4 Ringers involved.

The other is the British European Auto Tour www.beataz.com

This is another cruise from Phx to Flag with all kinds of new and older cars. Registration is limited and event info can be found on the website.

Audi Club SoCal, Spring Mountain 2010

Audi Club SoCal HPDE at Buttonwillow Raceway

October 12th, 2009

ACNA driver’s education event at Buttonwillow
Nov. 12, 2009 Thursday to Nov. 13, 2009 Friday

Here’s a chance to drive your car in a fun, safe, learning environment, on one of the the most fun tracks in Southern California; a chance to learn more about yourself, your driving skills, and your car. Besides which you’ll meet and socialize with a diverse group of people who really enjoy their Audi Brand of cars. What could be better?!

If it is your first or tenth time to an Audi driving event you will have a blast. Novice drivers will spend the morning of the first day in a classroom session and practice driving exercises to learn vehicle dynamics. The class and exercises are designed to enhance your car control skills and knowledge of your car.

During all driving exercises you’ll drive your own car and have club instructors to assist in developing better driving skills. This provides helpful input to ensure you get the most out of the experience in a safe controlled driving environment.

After the car control sessions the balance of the learning is on the track. Run groups are established to allow you to be on track with other drivers of similar experience. Novice students always have an instructor in the car during on track sessions. Passing is allowed only on designated sections of the course, and under controlled circumstances, making for as safe an environment as possible. Time spent on the track without side streets provides a great opportunity to safely learn advanced driving techniques and explore the capabilities of both your car and…and you!

You’ll have a BLAST…guaranteed!

For more information and to register for the event, visit the Southern California Chapter’s website.

Porsche, which has been a separate Class for several years. Net proceeds from this event support scholarships and grad night activities at Sahuarita High School, including the popular “Car Give Away”.

A Weekend Getaway
The show is hosted on the lush driving range grass of the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa, 1 Otero Road, Tubac, AZ 85646, phone: (520)398-2211, where friends and families share a weekend of fun and relaxation with fellow car collectors and fans. Don’t miss out on the Friday night (1/22/10) BBQ & Cruise. Festivities begin at the Friday Night BBQ and Cruise. BBQ beef, roasted chicken, smoked sausage, and all the “fixins” make this even an annual favorite. Make it a full week-end getaway, by booking your hotel.

A Splendid Event
This year’s event promises to be a great one. Winter is the perfect time of year to enjoy the wonderful Arizona weather, basking under clear skies surrounded by the glistening chrome that decorates some of the world’s greatest automobiles. Over 2000 spectators are expected to pass by our cars. First, second, and third place awards are given, based on ballots from all show participants. Awards will be announced around 3PM.

Show off your vintage Audi!

July 31st, 2009

Dear Audi Club Members,

Here is a chance for you to show off your vintage Audi! Sarah Toycen, Communications Specialist, Audi of America is looking for vintage vehicles to display at AoA’s upcoming press event in Napa Valley, August 25-27. AoA is looking for vehicles that are in good condition (not necessarily drivable) and can be displayed outside uncovered. The less race car oriented the better. AoA has access to cars within the marketing department that are race oriented (S1, RS6, etc.) but are looking for other cars to help tell the story of progression.

AoA will cover the cost to transport the cars to and from the event, and will ship the cars in an enclosed carrier. Alternatively, AoA is flexible and will follow any shipping request the owner may have. The cars need to arrive in Napa Valley on August 24th and will be loaded out on August 27th. A professional vehicle logistics company will handle the vehicles, place them where needed and maintain them (wipe down regularly) upon arrival, until departure.

The event will take place at the Carernos Inn and will involve 55 automotive and lifestyle journalists. If someone is interested in supplying a vehicle please contact Sarah Toycen and she will work out the details with the owner directly.

Thank you!
